Enchanted Gardens, Ocho Rios, Jamaica
This was once a luxury resort that has sadly fallen into disuse. It is only 5 minutes by taxi outside the port of Ocho Rios and it will cost around $20 to hire the cab to take you there, wait and return you back to the ship or downtown. The caretaker, Clarence will be there and is happy to take you around for $10 each plus a tip. The aviary is quite large and the birds are very tame. Clarence will give you some bird seed and they will sit on you for a hand out. Keep your eye out for the Jamaican conures aka olive-throated parakeets (aratinga nana), there are a couple in the aviary (Clarence let me name one Tiki) and you can sometimes see wild ones in the trees overhead. They do not have a website, but if you are on a cruise ship, go to the taxi rank and negotiate a round trip to Enchanted Gardens. You can ask to be dropped at the craft market in town afterwards and it is a 15 minute walk back to the ship.

This little guy's parents are a nanday conure and a Jamaican conure. All birds fly freely in the aviary and choose their own partners.
